 MAY 2015

Whatever you say or do should be done in the name of the Lord Jesus, as you give thanks to God the Father because of him. Colossians 3:17 (CEV)

Dear Friends and Prayer Warriors,

Greetings from your coworkers to the Portuguese-Speaking World!

BROLM’s (Brazil River of Life Ministries) goal is to do all things in the name of our Lord Jesus. We want to say and do what He would and in all things give thanks to God the Father because of Him! We have fantastic news, to Him be all glory!

Water Well for Mozambique
When we started to ask a few months ago for help to raise funds for the Hope Mission water well in Mozambique, we had faith that God would touch people’s hearts and this goal would be reached. We would like to thank everyone who felt and accepted God’s touch and helped us reach this goal. Our hearts are full of gratitude! We give thanks to God the Father for your generosity!

Church Planting in Mozambique
Multiply the churches! Each one of the 72 Mozambique churches already planted is making the effort to start evangelizing in another location with the goal to plant a new church at that new location. Most of them are meeting this goal, however because of the floods in Mozambique this year, 13 church buildings were destroyed and these churches are focusing on rebuilding. The biggest challenge in planting new churches is to equip and keep the church leaders at their location.

“Hands On” Bible College in Mozambique
In 2013 BROLM started equipping the church leaders in Mozambique. The goal--to help them have the Bible knowledge necessary to lead the local church. We also desire to affirm their call to the ministry so they can apply their understanding of God’s Word to the day-to-day challenges in the villages. To reduce the distance for some church leaders who have to travel many miles to be equipped, we are seeking the possibility of offering the Hands On Bible College in other locations!

Hope Home
As the struggle for food remains a  challenge in Mozambique, we are grateful to God for the opportunity to maintain the Hope Home. This home blesses  children, adolescents, and young adults with meals, education, healthcare, and leisure.
There are 61 boys and girls boarding at the Hope Home; 48 between 1st and 8th grades, 10 in High School and 3 who have graduated from High School and are working at the Hope Mission. All are involved with the Hope Mission and with the local church. A current need is to build a boys dormitory.

 Hope School
The school has 1025 students enrolled this year studying from 1st to 8th grade. Every student pays US$ 270 per year, with this money they have painted the school and are building restrooms. They need to build more classrooms and purchase computers so they can further the students' education.

Houses at the Hope Mission in Mozambique
Other construction underway includes four homes--one for the Director and his wife (Kleber and Juracema.). The other three are being built so national leaders can live at the same location. Eventually, they would like to build two more homes at Hope Mission so other national leaders can live there as well.
We praise the Lord for the partnership that BROLM has with Hope Mission / Kleber and Juracama since 2003 and for all they are doing for the Lord and His Kingdom! Please pray for them!

Resurrection Celebration in Brazil
Since 2005, BROLM has promoted a day of celebration on Easter for all the BROLM churches. However, every year we have some difficulties in having the people come on Sunday. The families like to have Easter Sunday dinner together and there are the services at the local churches too. Thus, we decided to try to celebrate this year on Saturday. All the churches got together at 10 a.m. at a rental location where they could have a meal together, play games, swim, and have lots of fellowship. At 4 p.m. they had a Worship Service. Each church had a part in the music, there was preaching, and most important--they shared Communion together. The day celebration ended at 6 p.m. Interstingly, there were the same amount of people as last year, but they enjoyed it being held on Saturday rather than Sunday! What's more important, though, is that God’s people got together to celebrate the Resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ!

Hands On Bible College in Jundiai
BROLM's goal for 2015 is to have the Hands On Bible College offered at all the BROLM churches in Brazil. The Jundiai Church had their first class in April, now Campo Limpo Paulista and Jundiai Churches are equipping their leaders. We are working toward starting classes at other BROLM churches in August!

A Personal Note
Monica and I (Jeff) arrived in the USA after being in Brazil in January, in Portugal in February, and in Guinea Bissau in March. In April we visited some BROLM supporters. We also have begun preparing for Isaac’s High School graduation on May 16th and are working on getting him accepted at Johnson University. Isaac wants to study Preaching/Intercultural Studies at Johnson University, for he would like to be a missionary after he graduates. Roger has one more semester to graduate from Milligan and he is already looking into some masters programs for next year.
The four of us leave for Brazil on May 22nd. Roger and Isaac will come back to the USA so they can go to school in the fall, however Monica and I will come back on November 18th for Roger’s graduation in December. We will be avialable to speak from November 18th to December 29th.
In July I am planning on going to Mozambique to teach at the Hands On Bible College and to Angola to launch the Hands On Bible College there. Please pray for us!

God is doing great things through BROLM among the Portuguese-Speaking World, and your prayers and support are vital! Please continue to pray so the Lord will use BROLM more and more for His honor and glory! Your prayers and support are vital for us!

May the Lord richly bless you in Christ Jesus!
God is good, all the time; and He is acting among us!
In HIS Love and Service,

Thanks for praying for us!
Jeff & Monica Fife
