August 2020 Report

Baptism/ Ordination/ FruitsFood BasketsHomeless/ VBS in the Box/Churches/ Isaac

God is doing amazing things, and we are laboring to His Kingdom around the clock. So many opportunities to serve at this time. Here are a few of the many things I've been doing through BROLM in the last few weeks.

Baptism. Samuel´s father Emerson came to us a few years-ago, condemned to death by a drug lord for not paying for drugs he had used. We talked to the drug lord that he had given his life to Christ and he was going to a Christian rehab and the drug lord took of his death penalty. About a year ago Samuel came to live with Emerson, he used to live with his mother, and Emerson kept bringing him to church. Samuel, 14-year-old, confessed Jesus Christ as his Lord and savior and was baptized on the last Sunday of June.

Ordination. In 1808, John Fife, who came to the USA from Scotland, married Nancy McGinnes in Mercer County, Kentucky. In 1911 they purchased a family Bible to keep the records of their children. That Bible was passed from generation to generation among the Fifes and my father (Tom Fife) was the last to receive it. Since Isaac is the 5th generation of preachers of the Fifes on the Restoration (Stone and Campbell) Movement, Dad decided to pass on the Family Bible to him. So, during Dad's Life Celebration Service the Elders from Christian Fellowship Church and all the preachers and missionaries present ordained Isaac into the ministry as he received the Family Bible. It was a glorious moment to see God retiring Dad into his eternal home and raising a new generation to serve Him.

Fruits. We continue to serve the community with fruits and vegetables that are given to us, since the pandemic started, we have distributed over one thousand bags/boxes of fruits and vegetables. The company that has been blessing us with fruits and vegetables, started a frozen soup and fruit juice company, thus they are using about all that they were giving to us for this purpose, so now we are only receiving 25% of the amount we were receiving per month. This makes the needs of the people even bigger.

Food Baskets. We want to thank everyone that has helped us purchase Food Baskets ($15 each), we have distributed 180 baskets to those that are in extreme need. Please, continue to help us, the people in extremely need are growing, as the situation in Brazil is getting worse every day.

Homeless. When the pandemic started the Mayor of São Paulo prohibited us to serve breakfast to the Homeless, we were happy to restart this service on the last Sunday of July. As we serve a small loaf of bread with butter and a cup of coffee, we have the opportunity to reach them to Christ. This has made possible for Kleber to confess Jesus as Lord and Savior and go to rehab. Please pray for him!

VBS in the Box. Since we could not have VBS at the churches, we could not leave our children without. Thus, our children’s ministry got together a VBS kit in a box, with the lessons, activities, songs, memorized Bible verse, pencils, crayons, and more. They also recorded and posted every day on YouTube the songs, puppet show, story time, prayer and more. Thus, each child received the VBS in the Box at home and received the daily YouTube link, and with the material at home they were able to have a great VBS. The best part was to see the parents involved with their kids doing all the activities at home.

Churches. All BROLM churches are back having presential services and we are keeping the online services for those that cannot come, as we keep all the social distances and precautions the services have had a good attendance.

Isaac. Johnson University has scheduled Isaac’s commencement for Oct 17, he is in the USA making contacts and working on raising support. If you would like to schedule to talk with Isaac personally, or online and see his ministries plans as he is now officially a BROLM missionary you can reach him at isaac@brolm.org . Isaac is scheduled to come to Brazil on Oct 22. Please, get in touch with him and fall in love with God's calling to his life.

These are just a few highlights of what God is doing!

Thanks for your prayers and financial support. They are vital for us!

God is good, all the time; and He is acting among us!

In HIS Love and Service,

Jeff, Monica and Isaac Fife

Tom Fife Went To His Eternal Home

Every week a Brother from Colonial Heights Christian Church came to my parents’ home in Gray and sang hymns with them. Daddy was always ready to sing the old beautiful hymns. As my Brother Richard sent the recording every week, I noticed that Dad was struggling to sing this past Thursday, however he closed his eyes and with a deep voice sang with all his heart Leaning On The Everlasting Arms, he is there Leaning On The Everlasting Arms.
As God called my Dad to his eternal home at 10:30 pm this Saturday June 20, his last words were, “I don't want to be sick anymore”, he is not sick anymore he is whole in the presence of our Mighty God, rejoicing!
I chose the attached picture because he was doing what he loved the most, teaching God’s Word.
Here he was teaching the first class when we launched the Hands On Bible College in 2009. It was Hermeneutics (How to Interpret the Bible).
Today more than 400 men will preach, because God used him to teach. Thousands will worship our Lord Jesus Christ, all over the world, because God used him to teach.
Heavens gained our lost!
“The Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord.” (Job 1:21ESV)
We are thankful for Dad´s legacy in teaching God's Word and we look forward to the day we will meet again in the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ!
Blessing,
Jeff Fife

JUNE – COVID REPORT – 2020

Greetings from your co-workers to the Portuguese-Speaking World.

Here in São Paulo, Brasil, we are all well, even though the fight for power and money continue among the politicians and we have had many manifestations on the streets. As you may have seen on the news, Brasil is right now the epicenter of the pandemic and Sao Paulo is where we have more cases in Brasil.

We have been working overtime and seeking to do all possible to serve as many people as possible in Jesus name. Some supporting churches have asked us to do a short video saying what we are doing and we have received other requests too, we will work on them ASAP.

In May Brother Ruben, from Jundiaí church, asked me to do a live commentary on the Psalms, thus we are doing together on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 9 pm to 10 pm on Instagram. Monica and I continue with the live devotionals, and we continue with Hands On Bible College on Zoom on Tuesdays and the church services on Thursdays and Sundays online and at Pirituba. We are doing all the requirements from the Health Department, thus everything we are doing is legal.

Let us give you a report on our Covid-19 efforts:
BROLM received $3,273.00 for this purpose!
We purchase:
120 Food Baskets $1,800.00
300 Dippers $78.00
48 Liters of Milk $27.00
24 Liter of Oil $22.00
600 Face Masks $307.00
5 Alcohol Gel Foot Triggers $389.00 (Required by law to reopen the churches)
25 Gallons of Alcohol Gel $67.00
Gasoline and Tool for the Van $89.00
Total $2,779.00 thus we still have $494.00 for this purpose

The needs are only growing as unemployment grows, many factories, stores and small businesses are closing and leaving the people without any compensation.

The group that was donating the fruits that they were removing from the supermarkets, has cut their supplies to the supermarkets drastically. From April 1st to May 15th we had distributed over 800 fruit and vegetables baskets. Since May 15th until now only 100. Thus, people are going even more hungry.

Will you, please, help us, with $15 we can purchase a food basket and help a family.

We continue to help the Addiction Clinic, where we have some interns, with food, too!

We need your prayers for health, wisdom, and supplies to serve the people in need at this time.

Thank you very much for your prayers and gifts. Without them we could not do what God has called us to do!

God is good, all the time; and He is acting among us!

COVID – MAY 20 – BROLM REPORT

COVID – MAY 20 – BROLM REPORT
Greetings from your coworkers to the Portuguese-Speaking World.
We pray that you all are well and safe.
As we continue to navigate in new waters during this pandemic, God is giving us new ways to serve people, for His honor and glory.
We would like to thank those that were able to help us in purchasing, food baskets, diapers, and other needs in the last 30 days.

We been able to distributed over 500 fruits and vegetables baskets, over 80 food basked, over 200 diapers, many liters of milk and oil and over 100 face masks.

The work continues and the need grows every day, as more people are getting unemployed, and a lot of people that has applied for the USD$120 monthly government help has been dined.

The two churches that has more people in need are Pirituba and Sao Mateus.

Monica and I started Live devotional on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, at 8 pm, Brasil time, to keep people from the churches connected and it has been a great blessing as we interact with the people not only in Brasil, but from all over the world.
Monica and I continue to teach, Bible College, through zoon, on Tuesdays, and we continue with the Thursday services online.
On April 14th, Sao Paulo city mayor allowed churches to meet, as long as we keep the Health Department guide lines. However, the governor, has determined that churches should only meet after June 28th.
Brasil is under a big fight among all the politicians, there are too many miss leading information’s and corruption is growing back again.
So, Sunday May 3rd we were back with the services only at the Pirituba Church, and continue live so all the other churches members could participate.
Isaac finished his last class at Johnson University, May 5th, thus he is ready to come to Brasil fulltime and work with us, we need him ASAP, however, he still needs to raise support and the pandemic is not helping, we trust God is in control. We are very proud and thankful parents!
Isaac has been vital for the youth of BROLM’s Churches during this pandemic, he is in touch with the youth on a daily basis, sending encouraging messages and counseling them. Pray that God will continue to give Isaac wisdom!
We been communicating with our coworkers among the Portuguese-Speaking World, and my Brother in Portugal is doing well, the African countries are not having many cases, in Angola and Guine-Bissau has had 2 deaths each and Mozambique no deaths.
Please, pray for us, pray for the ministry, pray for Isaac, as he raises support, and pray for Brasil.

If you can help, we need your help, we are purchasing food baskets for USD$15.00 each, and we have the cost of keeping all the operations going on, plus we are purchasing diapers, milk and oil, we been blessed with fruits, vegetables, and masks donations.

Happy Mother´s Day!
We are praying daily for you all!
Thanks for your prayers and financial support, they are vital for us!
Blessings,

God is good, all the time; and He is acting among us!
In HIS Love and Service,
Jeff & Monica Fife

Covid-19 - Request / Report - April 2020

 Covid-19 - Request / Report - April 2020
Greetings from your coworkers to the Portuguese speaking world,
You may be asking what are they doing in Brazil during this pandemic?
We are sharing God's love for all people in every way possible!
We have maintained all church services, meetings, Bible College via the internet, but we have gone further.
In the last 3 weeks we have helped over 100 families with basic food and fruit baskets, milk and diapers.
You may remember that on Fridays the Basic Health Unit of Pirituba uses the church building to serve the elderly. They measure their pressure, blood sugar level and help them in many ways. It helps mothers with newborns and at the same time do several tests with young people to see if they have any sexually transmitted diseases.
We have church members in Pirituba who work at the Basic Health Unit and they tell us who the families are in need of, and so we have helped church members and many neighborhood residents.
São Paulo is the city that has more cases of Covid-19 in Brazil, as of today 8,775 cases and 588 deaths.
The quarantine in São Paulo was extended to April 22 with the possibility of being extended until May 6.
Now we have many families in need, as the food they had in their homes when the quarantine started on March 20 is already running out and most then do not have income, as they work on the streets selling as freelancers.
The fruits we donate are donated by a distributor that donates fruits that were not sold in supermarkets.
However, the basic food baskets, milk and diapers we have to purchase them.
Each basic food basket costs $ 15 USD.
If you can help us buy basic food baskets, milk and diapers, please send your donation to BROLM.
Keep praying for us, we are healthy and happy to serve others in the name of the Lord in the midst of this pandemic.
In the love and service of our KING JESUS!
Blessings,

Jeff and Monica Fife

Brasil - March 2020 - Report Codiv-19
Greetings from your coworkers to the Portuguese-speaking World!
Some have asked how are we doing in Brasil during the pandemic Covid-19.
Monica and I are well. The missionaries and nationals that we partner in Portugal, Mozambique, Guinea Bissau, Angola, and throughout Brasil, are all well. We keep in contact daily with most of them!
We have been trying to keep people calm and focus on their faith in Jesus Christ, during this crisis.
In Brasil we are watching a huge fight between the left and the right, they care less about the people it is all about politics and money. The people it is divided and the country is going down the tube.
We had services at the churches until March 19. On March 20 the supreme court of the state of Sao Paulo prohibit opening churches for any reason. We cannot even use the offices of the churches. In our case we cannot feed the poor and they are on the streets starving! We cannot even stream live our services from the church, we are doing from our homes.
Personally, I believe it is time for the Church to step up and guide the people during this crisis, repenting for being so passive in preaching the Gospel and making disciples. It is time for a great revival, awaking the Church and reaching out to all with God’s love. I am praying for many souls to be saved and many coming back to God’s presence through this pandemic.
From last Friday to today it has been reported at the BROLM’s churches over 40 people coming back to the Lord and over 20 confessing Christ as their Lord and Savior at the homes as we minister to families in need through the internet.
So, we are having our services though live stream (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube), the Hands On Bible College classes and Home Groups through ZOOM and counseling and praying through text messages, phone calls and video call through WhatsApp. We are using social media for God’s glory!
That means that the only thing that has changed for us (Monica and I) it is that we are not driving as much as we are used too, but we are active working as hard as ever for God’s glory and He is doing amazing things!
Please, pray for us as we are praying for you!
Blessings,
Jeff & Monica Fife
