Brasil - March 2020 - Report Codiv-19
Greetings from your coworkers to the Portuguese-speaking World!
Some have asked how are we doing in Brasil during the pandemic Covid-19.
Monica and I are well. The missionaries and nationals that we partner in Portugal, Mozambique, Guinea Bissau, Angola, and throughout Brasil, are all well. We keep in contact daily with most of them!
We have been trying to keep people calm and focus on their faith in Jesus Christ, during this crisis.
In Brasil we are watching a huge fight between the left and the right, they care less about the people it is all about politics and money. The people it is divided and the country is going down the tube.
We had services at the churches until March 19. On March 20 the supreme court of the state of Sao Paulo prohibit opening churches for any reason. We cannot even use the offices of the churches. In our case we cannot feed the poor and they are on the streets starving! We cannot even stream live our services from the church, we are doing from our homes.
Personally, I believe it is time for the Church to step up and guide the people during this crisis, repenting for being so passive in preaching the Gospel and making disciples. It is time for a great revival, awaking the Church and reaching out to all with God’s love. I am praying for many souls to be saved and many coming back to God’s presence through this pandemic.
From last Friday to today it has been reported at the BROLM’s churches over 40 people coming back to the Lord and over 20 confessing Christ as their Lord and Savior at the homes as we minister to families in need through the internet.
So, we are having our services though live stream (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube), the Hands On Bible College classes and Home Groups through ZOOM and counseling and praying through text messages, phone calls and video call through WhatsApp. We are using social media for God’s glory!
That means that the only thing that has changed for us (Monica and I) it is that we are not driving as much as we are used too, but we are active working as hard as ever for God’s glory and He is doing amazing things!
Please, pray for us as we are praying for you!
Blessings,
Jeff & Monica Fife

Fifes's - BROLM - Christmas and New Year Card

12/19/2019

2019 WAS AN EXTRAORDINARY YEAR!

One of the biggest highlights of the year was being ICOM’s (International Conference on Missions) president. I (Jeff) had the opportunity to work with David Empson (ICOM’s Executive Director) and his team, they were such a blessing to me. They are hard workers and very committed to the Kingdom. I was blessed to work side by side with them.
ICOM’s 2019 theme was Mind The Gap – Embracing The City. We brought awareness to the need of reaching the largest cities in the world with the Gospel, and we believe that it was a good start!

As I traveled for 20 weeks representing ICOM this year—inviting people to come to the conference, I had the opportunity to meet several vibrant young people at the Colleges/Universities. God is raising a new generation of workers for His Kingdom, and I was very impressed with the students! I was very well received at each church I visited, and am very thankful for the hospitality. I will cherish every conversation, every prayer request, every open heart, and all the traveling. My heart is full of gratitude for all!

I would like to thank Monica, Roger and Isaac for all they did to make this possible. Monica is always so supportive. Roger took has vacation to be with us at ICOM. And Isaac was sick, yet he was there ready to serve.

We would like to thank our supporters for understanding and keeping your support during the time we were dedicating our time to ICOM.

BROLM’s board are the best and they did all they could to help us accomplish the task of being ICOM’s president. None of us knew for sure what all was involved, and it was a lot more than we expected, but they stood by our side all the way. Thanks!

Our team in Brasil did so well during the time we were in the USA—ALL the ministries kept running as if we were there with them. We talked everyday and God was so gracious that all went well!

When we arrived back to Brasil, Nov 23, it was time to be back and plan for a new year full of visions and dreams for the Kingdom. BROLM’s 2019 theme has been Making Disciples. In 2020, the theme will be The Church Jesus Built. We will learn more about the importance of the Church.

So, we are back to Brasil working at full speed and we would like to ask you to pray with us for these new goals that we have for 2020:

1. Raise funds for Isaac. The BROLM Board approved an additional full-time position for Isaac to join the mission in Brazil. He will need to raise raise $3,000 per month: $1.000 for his salary and $2,000 for him to do the ministry that God has called him to do in Brazil with us.

2. Raise funds and start building the retreat/camp. We need $200.000 for the first phase and we have $52,000. This first phase will make it possible to accommodate 100 campers.

3. Raise funds to start the Before/After School Project for children from 6 to 14 years-old at Pirituba Church. The cost for this project it is $1,500 per month. With this amount we will be able to have two full-time workers (church members - one is a teacher and the other a cook) and help up to 80 children daily.

August 2019 Report

Greetings from your coworkers to the Portuguese-Speaking World!

This time of the year it is cold where we live, 40’s during the night and 50’s and 60’s during the day, most Americans would say this is an ideal weather, whoever, when the houses are made of concrete blocks and does not have any insulation, it gets cold inside the house, specially the few nights that it goes down to the 30’s.

Monica and I have been fighting some throat and sinus infection, and in my case some ear infection, after taking all the medication we are not well yet. Let’s see what the doctor has to say!
Please, pray for our health.

I could say that he has worked a lot and has experience well BROLM (Brazil River of Life Ministries) ministry during the summer.
Now, Isaac is ready for his senior year at JU (Johnson University), and he needs to raise support, to come back as full-time missionary in 2020.
Isaac will return to the USA on August 12, for the JU soccer pre-season and he will be helping with the worship team at Seymour Heights CC.

Please, pray for Isaac!

We been very blessed with the HOBC (Hands on Bible College), as we have 6 locations in Brazil, and we have trained a team in Mozambique to teach and they are traveling to villages every weekend to teach, over 100 evangelists are being trained in Mozambique. The classes will resume in Portugal soon and we have a meeting with some brothers from Angola at ICOM to launch the HOBC in Angola too. This is tremendous! God is good!
Please, pray for HOBC throughout the Portuguese-Speaking World.

These two videos are 13 seconds long each and shows a couple of the HOBC classes in Mozambique. They do not have much, but they are very thankful.

Monica and I will leave Brazil on August 19 and come back on November 22.
We will travel, most of the time I will be alone, since the traveling is hard on Monica’s health, for ICOM (International Conference on Missions) from August 25 through Nov 17.
Sherree (sherree@theicom.org) from ICOM’s office is responsible for our schedule. “They tell me how high and I jump”. If you would like a copy our schedule, please, request and we will send you a PDF copy.

ICOM is responsible for our travels in the USA, however, the international flights they will not cover the cost, the cost of our tickets for the round trip at this time cost $2,791.82. Anyone that would like or can help us with this expense it will be a blessing.

Please, pray for our travels!

For now, it is all, I could write a lot more about what God is doing, but time does not allow!

If you have any questions, please, feel free to ask!
Thank you very much for praying for us!

Blessings,
Jeff and Monica Fife

 APRIL 2019
 Dear friends and family,
Greetings from your coworkers to the Portuguese-speaking world!
Monica and I (Jeff) will fly back to Brazil this Thursday April 4th. We been in the USA for 7 weeks traveling mainly for ICOM (International Conference on Missions) since I am 2019 ICOM’s president at Kansas City, Nov 14-17.
I did a couple tours with ICOM’s folks throughout the mid-west, one in Feb and another in Mar. Isaac and I had the opportunity to visit Bethany CC, Bumpass, VA, and I spoke at Countryside CC, Wichita, KS, for their mission emphasis weekend.
We are looking forward to going back to Brazil and continue our ministry there. We will be back in the USA August 13th to travel more to promote ICOM until the Conference in Nov.
For those that does not know the president of ICOM only serves for one year and I was asked to serve this year, because of ICOM’s theme for 2019: Mid the Gab – Embracing the City. ICOM wants to bring awareness to the gap that our churches have in reaching the largest cities in the world. Thus, they invited me, since we work in one of the largest cities in the world Sao Paulo that has 22 million population.
If you would like for us to speak/visit at your church/organization in the fall (Aug 13th – Nov 22nd), please, contact Sherree Empson (sherree@theicom.org) at ICOM, she is responsible for our schedule during our time in the USA during that period.
BROLM’s church in Jundiai celebrated 9 years in March and nothing better than some baptisms to celebrate a church anniversary. Ruben baptized Cesar (Jujitsu fighter) and Helena on March 24th! We will have an Anniversary celebration service Saturday Apr 6th.
Please, pray:
  • for our return to Brazil.
  • Isaac’s official internship in Brazil (May 1st to August 12th), he is still raising funds for this purpose.
  • the ministry in Brazil and among the Portuguese-Speaking World.
  • my father (Tom Fife), he is going through 7 weeks of radiation.
  • Jim Knowles, BROLM’s board member, also going through cancer treatment.
  • resources to build the retreat in Brazil.

Thanks for your prayers and financial support.
